Lapas a aflor

LIMPETS - RANGPUR LIME AND SAFFLOWER

Here our limpets appear in a happy union with rangpurlime and safflower from Azores. Known as bastard saffron comes from the flowers and stamens of the safflower. Safflower is a plant similar to a small thistle with soft spines that grows spontaneously in southern Portugal and Azores.

Its scientific name is Thunnus obesus and it's a large fish with big eyes that can measure about 2.5 meters. In the can are hand-cut fillets that maintain the original texture.

TUNA&WINE

This production is the result of a partnership between AzorConcha and PicoWines.

Now, at the same time, you have a tuna with the seal of excellence AzorConcha and an intense wine, also from Pico Island, named Lajido, harvested in 2004 – year when its vineyard culture was classified by UNESCO as a world heritage site.

The elegant packing, was created, once again by the designer João Ribeiro.

Content: One can of BigEye Tuna (Thunnus obesus), fillets, with premium extra virgin olive oil (≤ 0,2º acid.) and a small bottle of Lajido, reserve white wine, liqueur and sweet, vintage year 2004.

Small tuna specie which scientific name is Katsuwonus pelamis. It has a silvery back and a dark blue belly.

LAPAS

Lapa is a type of sea snail. This specie, native to Azores, lives on rocks and is protandric, with individuals being born male and often becoming female with age. Its caught is made by experienced divers in apnea always with limited and selected harvesting.
